Rhinoplasty (nose surgery) is a procedure performed to surgically improve the shape and features of the nose. Different areas of concern are addressed and include the bridge, tip, nostrils, and the septum (cartilage) internally.
Rhinoplasty can help reduce the bridge hump or width, lengthen or shorten the nose, or refine the tip. The goal of surgery is to achieve a nose that is harmonious with the rest of the face and compliments your features. Surgery on the inside of the nose (septum) can be added to treat septal deviation and improve breathing problems.
Rhinoplasty is performed on an outpatient basis under general anesthesia. After the procedure, you may resume light activity and gradually return to normal activity within 1-2 weeks. Minimal bruising and swelling might be encountered and should resolve within 4-6 weeks. The shape of the nose will continue to improve over this period, although it may take up to 6-12 months for the final shape to be realized.
Our doctors will evaluate your nose and discuss your concerns during your consultation. A surgical plan will be created specifically for you in order to address your concerns.
