Liposuction slims and reshapes specific areas of the body by removing excess fat deposits, improving your body contours and proportion, and ultimately, enhancing your self-image.
Who Should Consider Liposuction?
You would be a good candidate if you have certain areas of excess fat deposit that is hard to get rid of despite exercise or weight loss. Liposuction can be performed on most areas of the body such as the abdomen, the flanks (love handles), buttocks, thighs, knees, arms, and neck. It can be performed on men and woman. It can also be used to treat male gynecomastia (enlarged breasts).
Will I Need to Stay Overnight?
Liposuction is a procedure performed in an outpatient setting. It can be performed with mild sedation (if treating small areas) or under general anesthesia. If combined with other procedures, an overnight stay may be necessary. It is performed through small incisions around the area of concern.
What is the Recovery Time and Treatments?
After the procedure, compression garments are recommended to help with healing and to reduce swelling. You may return to work one or two days following the procedure. Bruising may take up to one week to resolve.
