Atlanta Breast Reduction

Breast Reduction Surgery

Breast reduction surgery is done to reduce the size and discomfort of very large breasts. Typically, an inverted “T” incision is performed, which involves an incision around the areola (the pigmented tissue where the nipple sits), a vertical incision that extends from the bottom of your areola to your breast crease, and an incision that runs along the breast crease. During your initial consultation, our doctors will take measurements of your breasts and discuss with you the extent of size reduction you desire. They will also discuss the location of your breast incisions with you during your consultation.

Candidates For A Breast Reduction

Women seeking breast reduction surgery typically complain of the symptoms associated with having very large breasts, namely pain in their necks, back, and shoulders, as well as grooves in their shoulders from bras, and even headaches. Most women experience immediate pain relief and more balanced body proportions following breast reduction surgery. They are also able to exercise and have better range of motion after breast reduction, and find it easier to buy clothing that fits.

Financing Breast Reduction Surgery

Please note that starting January 1st, 2023, we will no longer be accepting insurance. As we are now scheduling well into next year, no new procedures are able to be covered.

Unfortunately, some insurance carriers may still have us listed as a provider after the New Year, and we are working diligently to ensure all provider directories are updated and accurate. We appreciate your understanding.

We realize that plastic and cosmetic surgery can be a major investment. Most patients choose to finance at least a portion of the cost of their surgical procedure or procedures. Many plans are available to cover the cost of plastic surgery, including 0% interest options. Please see our financing page for information about the different plans we accept.

Breast Reduction Recovery

Breast reduction is done as outpatient surgery under general anesthesia. Recovery varies with each patient, but most patients are back to normal activities in the first weeks after surgery. Your doctor will discuss pain management with you prior to surgery.
