Microneedling (with or without PRP)
Microneedling triggers the body’s natural wound healing process, resulting in skin remodeling. This includes the formation of new collagen and elastin, the softening of fine lines and wrinkles, scar, hyperpigmentation and pore reduction. Resulting in smoother, brighter skin.

Candidates for Microneedling
Really anyone how wants improved skin tone and texture is a good candidate for microneedling. However, there are some specific skin conditions that microneedling addresses very well. Specific candidates for microneedling could present with any of the following skin conditions:
- Fine lines or wrinkles
- Uneven texture of the skin
- Minimal skin laxity (looseness)
- Diminished texture, tone, color, no 'glow'
- Atrophic (depressed) acne scars
- Stretch marks
- Traumatic scars
- Sun damage
Microneedling at Home
Microneedling at home has become a big trend recently with all of the information out there about the benefits of microneedling. However, home microneedling devices or "rollers" have a few different characteristics than medical-grade devices.
First, the needles used are usually much duller than the needles used in a medical-grade device. Second, medical-grade microneedling devices use a disposable head which ensures that each treatment is delivered with the sharpest needles possible to decrease complications. Next, home devices are generally not calibrated for depth like medical-grade microneedling devices. A medical-grade device can be calibrated to deliver the precise depth of the needles to ensure you get the results your want.
