Labiaplasty / Labia Reduction Surgery
At Panacea, Dr. Kimberly Singh, a board-certified female plastic surgeon, conducts labiaplasties. This procedure involves surgical correction to improve the aesthetics of the labia minora or inner labia tissue, ensuring its alignment with the labia majora.
Labiaplasty surgical procedures can be completed in our office or Northside Surgical Center in Midtown, Atlanta, GA. You will be welcomed with kindness, warmth, and understanding at either location. The length of labial surgery is roughly an hour, and patients can leave without supervision after it is completed.
Why do some women choose to have a labia reduction?
Many patients choose labiaplasty surgery because they are unhappy with the size or shape of their vulva and labia. However, it is a procedure that is often elected for reasons that are far from just cosmetic. In fact, an irregularly shaped vulva, sometimes called labial hypertrophy, can cause some women to experience itching, irritation, and pain due to the size and position of their labia minora. Pain can result from engaging in a multitude of activities from simply riding a bicycle to engaging in sexual activity.
Feeling anxious about requesting a labiaplasty consultation?
Don't be. We understand that speaking with someone about this procedure can feel daunting. But Panacea was co-founded by one of Atlanta's top female labiaplasty surgeons, Dr. Kimberly Singh, who has performed labia reduction surgery for over a decade and has worked with hundreds of women to help them achieve their goals. She understands the sensitive nature of many plastic surgery procedures, and her goal is for all her patients to feel comfortable when they become part of the Panacea Family.

Labiaplasty FAQ
How much does labiaplasty cost?
The cost of labia surgery can vary based on a variety of factors. During your consultation, we'll discuss your concerns and goals before developing a custom treatment plan. After exploring your options, we'll provide a cost estimate. Panacea Plastic Surgery accepts many payment methods, and we can give you information on low-interest financing.
Should I choose a plastic surgeon or OB/GYN?
When researching vaginal rejuvenation surgery, you will discover that many OB/GYNs (obstetricians and gynecologists) perform labiaplasty. Although most OB/GYNs are qualified to perform labiaplasty, they may not be your best choice. An OB/GYN will be able to remove loose skin from your labia, but an experienced plastic surgeon like Dr. Singh and Dr. Abboushi will consider other aspects as well. They will ensure minimal scarring and that the final symmetry, color, and contour are natural-looking.
Will vaginal rejuvenation surgery cause insensitivity?
As with any surgery, you may have short-term numbness in the treated area for a while. This should dissipate as the skin and other vaginal tissues heal. In regard to sexual sensitivity, it is important to understand that labia rejuvenation shapes the vaginal lips and not the nerves of the clitoris. Our surgeons at Panacea Plastic Surgery have years of training and experience performing this procedure and will avoid the clitoris to ensure you don't lose sensitivity.
What is the recovery process like after a labiaplasty?
Prior to your surgery, we will discuss what you should expect following your labiaplasty plus suggestions to keep yourself comfortable during your recovery. You will experience some swelling and bruising in your vaginal area along with a certain amount of discomfort immediately after your procedure. You need to rest for at least a week before resuming light activities. Your surgeon will assess your recovery in your check-up appointments and tell you when you are able to resume sexual activity.
What does a labiaplasty cost in Atlanta?
The cost of labiaplasty starts at $5,000. It can be performed in our office or hospital surgical suites. Additional charges apply when choosing the in-hospital option, increasing the total price of labiaplasty surgery.
Final labiaplasty pricing depends on patients' individual needs and goals; therefore, a consultation with our doctors is the only way to know what any procedure will ultimately cost. Many plastic surgery financing options are available for patients, including those from Care Credit, Alphaeon, and United Medical Credit (UMC).
What is labiaplasty recovery like?
Labiaplasty recovery is earlier than that resulting from most plastic or cosmetic surgery types. Most women experience discomfort, swelling, and bruising in the genital area immediately after surgery. You will be given pain medication and ice packs to help manage any discomfort and reduce swelling. It is important to avoid sitting for long periods and to keep the genital area clean and dry to prevent infection.
You should avoid strenuous activity, including sexual activity, for at least four to six weeks after the surgery. You may also need to avoid wearing tight clothing or underwear, and you should avoid using tampons. It is expected to experience mild discomfort and swelling for the first few weeks after labia reduction surgery. It would be best to avoid activities that could cause irritation or trauma to the surgical site, such as biking, horseback riding, or using a hot tub.
You will have follow-up appointments with Dr. Singh to monitor your healing progress. Following her post-operative instructions is essential to ensure a smooth and successful recovery.
