Non-Binary & Gender-Non-Conforming Top Surgery
Non-binary top surgery involves a variety of procedures that alter gender characteristics in the chest area. This allows patients to look less like the gender they were assigned at birth and more like who they actually are, whether or not they conform to a specific gender. Unlike Male To Female (MTF) and Female To Male (FTM) transgender top surgeries (TTS), non-binary surgeries do not alter general characteristics to be purely female or male.
Dr. Singh and Dr. Abboushi perform non-binary top surgery for gender-fluid and gender-non-conforming patients from around the U.S. They work with their patients to help better align their physical traits with how they feel, which can help them feel more at ease in their own bodies, easing or eliminating gender dysphoria.
Non-Binary & Gender-Non-Conforming Top Surgery Options
Gender-non-confirming and non-binary surgical procedures generally take between two and four hours and vary depending on the type of surgery required.
These procedures are customized for those individuals who do not identify as "traditionally" male or female. This may mean undergoing top surgery to reduce but not completely remove a patient's breasts, or to contour their chest in a way that is less masculine but also not typically female, i.e. the addition of breast implants.
Like all surgeries performed at Panacea, they are tailored to each patient's distinct needs and goals, allowing them to feel more comfortable in their own skin.
Non-Binary & Gender-Non-Conforming Top Surgery Recovery
Physical recovery can take a few weeks. Patients should walk around after surgery to improve blood flow but swelling may not subside for several weeks. Full results will be seen in a few months.
Making the decision to undergo any permanent procedure can be a difficult one. Here at Panacea Plastic Surgery, Drs. Singh and Abboushi are always available to answer any questions or concerns you have, so please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Ensuring good physical health through a balanced diet and light exercise can aid in a smoother recovery. It's also beneficial to arrange for post-operative support, such as having someone to assist you at home and preparing a comfortable recovery space.
What can I expect during the recovery period after non-binary top surgery?
During the recovery period after non-binary top surgery, you can expect a phase of rest and healing, typically lasting several weeks, where activities and physical exertion are limited to provide proper healing. It's common to experience some discomfort, swelling, and bruising, which gradually subsides, and you'll need to follow specific aftercare instructions provided by Dr. Singh and Dr. Abboushi. Regular follow-up appointments are crucial to monitor your healing progress and address any concerns you might have.
