Revisional Breast Surgery & Surgical Procedures
Unfortunately, prior breast surgeries are not always successful. Women who have had prior cosmetic or reconstructive surgery often seek help for their dissatisfaction with the appearance of their breasts after surgery.
This disappointment may be due to several factors such as unsatisfactory breast size and shape, complications from prior surgery, implant-related issues, asymmetry, and even failure of prior attempts at reconstruction.

Maria will take the time to talk to you about a procedure as often as needed. She is patient and kind. She truly seems to care about you as an individual. I enjoy working with her and she makes me feel like I am a part of the process not just a recipient of a procedure. She set realistic expectation and can show you results. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
Maria asked me all the right questions to understand my areas of concern and level of correction. She's highly qualified and very professional, as well as personal and friendly. I trust her completely.
The staff at panacea have been incredibly kind and respectful, and my experience receiving my gender affirming surgery with Dr. Abboushi has been great. I am so happy I chose to pursue care with this practice, and my results are already great just 3 weeks post op. :)
Maria is the best! She’s a master of all things face-related, but it’s her warm and trustworthy personality that keeps me coming back again and again.

Breast Revision FAQ
What if Dr. Abboushi wasn't my original surgeon?
Dr. Abboushi can perform revision surgery even if your original augmentation was done elsewhere. Revision surgery is often more complex, especially if significant changes are desired or if complications have occurred. Choosing a surgeon with specialized experience in breast revision, like Dr. Abboushi, ensures a higher level of care and attention to detail. Patients are also welcome to return to Panacea Plastic Surgery for revisions if they desire changes after their initial augmentation.
What about loose skin?
If your implants are being replaced or removed, you may need additional skin removal for optimal results. Dr. Abboushi will assess your skin's elasticity and discuss the possibility of adding a breast lift to tighten loose skin. A lift can be particularly beneficial if significant weight loss, pregnancy, or breastfeeding has affected your skin since your original surgery, helping to achieve a firmer, more youthful look.
Will there be new scars?
When possible, Dr. Abboushi will place incisions for revision surgery in the same locations as your original augmentation incisions. If new incisions are necessary, he will make every effort to position them in less visible areas, such as under the breast fold or along the edge of the areola. Options include transaxillary (in the armpit), periareolar (around the areola), inframammary (under the breast), and TUBA (through the belly button) incisions. Dr. Abboushi and our team will provide you with detailed scar care instructions to support optimal healing and minimize scar visibility over time.
