Why Is Choosing A Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon A MUST?

10/16/2017

Not all plastic surgeons meet the very demanding requirements to be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Unfortunately, many of those doctors simply don’t have the expertise it takes to get the job done right.

You may think you’re cutting costs but in reality, you might be getting a surgeon that cuts corners. Procedures done by non-certified plastic surgeons can lead to potentially dangerous complications.

For optimal results and patient satisfaction, it’s absolutely essential to choose a board-certified plastic surgeon. Avoid costly mistakes by getting your surgery done correctly the first time around.

Panacea Plastic Surgery is home to not one but two board-certified plastic surgeons who have the education and experience to get the job done correctly. In many cases, both Dr. Singh and Dr. Abboushi are involved providing you with a unique dynamic of both a male and a female perspective.

What Training Do Board-Certified Surgeons Have?

To become board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, doctors must complete a minimum of 5 years of surgical training after medical school. In fact, the average certified plastic surgeon spends about 16-years completing post-high school education.

During Dr. Singh and Dr. Abboushi’s plastic surgery residency program, they received in-depth training regarding all surgical procedures including the face and body.

At the end of the 5-year certification process, surgeons are required to complete a rigorous oral test that critically evaluates not only their knowledge of surgical procedures in a variety of settings but their ethical standing as well.

Board-certified doctors are re-evaluated every 10-years which includes 75-hours of continued medical education and a high level of customer satisfaction (based on surveys).

Are Facilities Certified As Well?

Yes. Not only are both your surgeons board-certified but the office is as well. The American Board of Plastic Surgery ensures that you’re receiving treatments in a clean, safe environment.

All of our facilities and affiliated hospitals are accredited and have met strict national standards for equipment, operating room safety, and personnel.
